Dishwashers offer many advantages over washing dishes by hand. Dishwashers save you time because instead of standing at the sink for hours after a big meal, you can just put them all in the dishwasher. When washing dishes by hand, you can’t necessarily control how much water you use, but dishwashers always use a set regulated amount. A full load of dishes in the dishwasher almost certainly uses less water than hand washing the same amount of dishes.
Dishwashers also offer a more hygienic option than hand washing because they use hot water to eliminate bacteria. While you can hand wash dishes with hot water in your sink, you can’t necessarily control the exact temperature or amount of water.
