What is a reducer bushing?

A reducer bushing is a type of connector that is used to connect two pipes, typically one male and one female pipe end. The reason they are called reducers is because they “reduce” the size of the pipes they connect. This is helpful when fitting together pipes of different sizes.

Arlington’s reducer bushings are constructed with die-cast zinc and a hex head to facilitate secure pipe fittings. Their wide selection of bushings also provides insulating and grounding capabilities as well.

What is a conduit fitting?

A conduit fitting is a type of electrical component that primarily connects, but also protects and organizes conduit connections for wiring applications.

They come in several different types depending on their size, shape, and purpose, including:

  1. Connectors: The most common type, these simply connect conduits to each other or to their respective electrical devices.
  2. Elbows and Bends: These are classified based on their shape, capable of changing the direction of an electrical connection while keeping it intact.
  3. Tees and Crosses: Tees can connect up to three conduits, while crosses can connect up to four.
  4. Couplings: A subtype of basic connectors, these fittings can connect two conduit pieces end-to-end.
  5. Adapters and Reducers: These conduit fittings help adjust the size of conduit connections. Adapters connect conduits of different sizes, while reducers help facilitate large to small connections.
  6. Caps and Plugs: These are designed to seal conduit ends to prevent dust, water, and debris from interfering with the connection.

Arlington offers multiple types of conduit connectors so you can find the proper piece of hardware for your conduit fittings. They are made with high quality materials to ensure durability and exceed electrical standards.
