High and low bay lights are the same type of light but are designed to illuminate from different ceiling heights. This is because high and low bay lights are configured with different beam angles and wattages.
Low bays are made for ceiling heights no more than 15-20 feet, emitting wide, diffused light for large spaces. They typically have a 120-degree beam angle and wattages between 60W to 100W. They are ideal for showrooms, offices, retail and grocery stores.
High bay fixtures are best suited for ceilings over 20 ft. in height. They are configured with a beam angle of 90-degrees or less, emitting narrower light to allow it to reach the floor from a greater height. CyberTech’s high bay lights have wattages ranging from 110W to 300W. They are ideal for warehouse, factory, and hangar lighting.
High bay and low bay lights have many different configurations to choose from. Variations in fixture types, lumens, beam angles, and wattages can all give your space a completely different lighting effect. Typically, the higher the ceiling height, the higher the wattage should be to ensure adequate illumination. Narrower beam angles work better from higher ceilings and wider beam angles are best for lower ceilings. Depending on the type of ceiling, you may need a flush or a suspended mount. And these are just some of the many factors to consider.
