What is a step light?

A step light, also known as a stair light, refers to a type of light that illuminates staircases. They work as both indoor and outdoor lighting options and typically install on the riser but can also install on the tread or as a wall light. Step lights improve safety because people can position themselves on the staircase in the dark. These fixtures can install on every step, every other step, or even every third step and they work well in spaces often used in the dark or at night, such as a deck light or movie theater light.

What step lights does Diode offer?

The Mattone 2 step light combines function and fashion to let you and your guests walk up and down stairs guided by a stylish accent light. They light staircases in both indoor and outdoor spaces and feature a 95+ CRI and dimmable capabilities with forward phase dimmers. These hard-wired 120V AC UL Listed fixtures fit in a standard gang box and give off a warm white 3000K light.

Color options include a bronze or white finish while shape options include vertical louvered and horizontal louvered. The horizontal options give off 141 lumens, while the vertical options give off 135 lm. These surface-mounted fixtures include the light engine and faceplate designed as one unit, making them easy to install.

What step light accessories does Diode offer?

In addition to step lights, Diode also offers accessories for their dimmer switches. Plates for the dimmer switches come in black, light almond, brown, and white. This allows you to control the brightness of the step lights while also matching the décor of your fixtures. Diode also offers a remote wall bracket that makes a perfect replacement for a 3-way application switch and can also hold the dimmer.
