What does MR16 stand for?
The MR in MR16 stands for multifaceted reflector. These bulbs house a reflector and produce a directional beam. MR LED bulbs replace inefficient halogen bulbs. MR bulbs typically work as spotlights. They work well in lighting applications that require a directional light, such as track lighting, landscape lighting, recessed lighting, and more.
The number following the MR refers to the diameter of the bulb in eighths of an inch. This means an MR16 bulb measures 16/8 or 2 inches in diameter. You can often find a 12-volt MR16 bulb, but they can operate at other voltages, including 120 volts.
Is MR11 the same as MR16?
MR16 and MR11 bulbs differ in size. An MR16 bulb measures 16/8 or 2 inches in diameter, while an MR11 bulb measures 11/8 or 1.375 inches in length.

What color temperature is best?
Color temperature measures the color of the white light in Kelvins (K). The lower the color temperature, the warmer, or more yellow, the light appears. The higher the color temperature, the cooler, or bluer, the light appears.
