Receptacle covers protect electrical outlets or receptacles. They differ from the wall plates and light switch covers used in homes and other residential applications. Ericson offers receptacles and flip covers that work in commercial and industrial grade applications.
Wall plates, also called wall plate covers or light switch plates, act as electrical outlet covers or switches. Wall plates also cover switches, such as toggle switch or rocker switch options.
Ericson flip covers close over the receptacle.
Standard outlets require the user to insert or push in the plug for it to connect. Twist lock receptacles add an extra layer of protection by requiring the user to twist the plug for it to properly connect. This secures the plug in place, making it difficult to accidentally pull the plug free from the receptacle.
Twist lock receptacles often see use in areas where equipment must stay on or connected for operation. They also see use in semi-permanent operations or locations where a plug should not be easily unplugged due to vibration.
Ericson offers a wide selection of receptacles and flip covers, including their Blue LC series, FS series, and PWDX series options.
Their Blue LC series works in commercial grade applications. They include a single flip cover option with no receptacle. The universal foam gasket accommodates 15, 20, and 30A receptacles and can accommodate Lockout/Tagout. Their design mounts to a flat surface.
The FS series features industrial grade UL listed and CSA certified options. They offer single flip covers with or without receptacles. They include weather resistant boot seals around an Ericson Perma-Tite 2 plug.
Their PWDX series includes industrial grade cULus listed for U.S and Canada. They offer duplex flip covers with receptacles. Like their FS series, these options also include weather resistant boot seals around an Ericson Perma-Tite 2 plug. They mount easily to any FS/FD box or any flat surface and can accommodate Lockout/Tagout.
