For the best performance, high bay lights require a minimum installation height of 20 feet. Depending on the beam angle, high bay lights will give different illumination effects at different ceiling heights. Narrow beam angles provide a spotlighting effect, while wider beam angles can cover larger areas. The higher you hang the high bay light, the more diffused the light cast will be. If you want more concentrated light, hang the fixture at a lower height. Always consult the manufacturer for the ideal height a certain high bay light should be mounted at.
ETi Lighting has both surface and suspended mounting high bays. Their suspension fixtures can hang from the ceiling at varying heights, while their surface-mounted linear high bays affix directly to the ceiling with brackets.
Using LED bulbs for high bay lights guarantees the highest quality and most cost-effective performance. LED high bays are safer, sturdier, and have a longer lifespan than most incandescent and CFL lights. They are easier to install as well, saving money by consuming less power while still having high luminosity. When you upgrade your old metal halide high bays to LEDs, you can see up to a 60-80% increase in energy cost savings.
Beyond the standard LED benefits, ETi’s LED high bay lights have dimming capabilities that allow for further customization and energy savings. Some of their fixtures also have built-in motion sensors to minimize the amount of energy the high bay uses.
