What size electric baseboard heater do I need?

The rule of thumb for electric baseboard heaters is 10W per square foot. So for a room of 12,000 square feet you need about 12,000 watts. If your electric baseboard heater is wired for 240-Volts, its 250W per foot of baseboard heater. So a 6ft electric baseboard heater is 1500W.
