How to clean a General Electric Air Conditioner?

While it may seem expensive to hire someone to clean your Air Conditioner, hiring someone who knows what they are doing is best practice.

To start the cleaning process, the technician should replace the filter if it is dirty. They should also check to see if anything is blocking the airflow of the vent.

Then they should check the condenser lines to see if the lines need replacing or not.

Once that is checked, the technician will turn off the breaker and remove the top of the condenser unit.

Your technician then cleans out the breaker unit with either a hand or a vacuum. Then they observe the fins on the condenser to see if those need to be replaced.

Now the technician cleans the coils by spraying the fins on the inside of the unit with an A/C coil cleaner. Note that the technician should never use a pressure washer when cleaning the coils. If you see them doing so, please raise concern.

Lastly, the technician will rinse off the outside of the air conditioning unit and then replace the top. Finally, they’ll turn the power back on, and you can use the air conditioner.
