What is an A23 bulb?
A23 bulbs are part of the most common bulb type, “A” bulbs. An A23 bulb has a diameter of 2.875 inches. The A23 bulb has one of the higher wattages compared to other A-shaped bulbs. This makes the A23 bulb the best option for commercial spaces that need A-shaped bulbs in recessed or downlight applications.

Due to their larger size, A23 bulbs will not fit in lampshades, frames, or other small fixtures. A19 bulbs, on the other hand, may fit where A23 bulbs fit depending on the fixture and lamp base required.
