Canopy light fixtures are outdoor mounted light fixtures that are usually under an overhang. Canopy light fixtures light the areas below them. Canopy light fixtures have clear lenses to focus light or frosted lenses that diffuse the light. Most canopies are durable and can be weather and tamper resistant.
Choosing canopy light fixture color temperatures comes down to your preference and the purpose of the light. In general, we suggest either 4000K or 5000K for outdoor canopy lights. If you are replacing old fluorescent or HPS fixtures choose 4000K to match the look. 5000K works best as a Metal Halide fixture replacement.
In residential applications, we recommend warmer tones like 2700K or 3000K to create a softer outside look.
