What is Wall Pack Lighting?
Wall pack lights, also called exterior building lights, are outdoor lights that are mounted on the outside of a building. Wall packs are used to illuminate the surrounding areas that are occupied by vehicles and people. They are also used for adding protection to an area since they are so bright and run during the nighttime.
How to install an LED Wall Pack light?
Installing an LED wall pack light is quite simple. However, please consult with a licensed electrician to perform the installation. HomElectrical does not encourage DIY projects.
The steps the electrician will follow are below:
- Turn off the power to the circuit breaker.
- Once the power is off, take out the screws of the lamp cover and remove the lamp cover. (Handle the lamp cover with care so you do not damage it)
- Make mounting holes in the wall.
- Use an electric drill to drill the mounting holes on the lamp. Attach a pad to the back of the lamp. Then, put the power line through the hole and screw the lamp onto the mounting holes.
- Once the lamp is on the mounting holes, connect the wires of the wall pack light. Ensure they are connected correctly and are secure.
- Place the lamp cover back on the lamp and screw it into place. Once the lamp cover is securely on, this finishes the installation process.
