What is a floor pad?

Made from various materials that vary from fine to coarse, standard floor pads can be attached to various floor machines, like burnishers and floor buffers, to give floor surfaces a shiny and polished finish.

How do you use a floor buffer?

If you would like to replenish the glow of your hard surface floors, you should consider buffing, also known as burnishing. Simply follow these steps.
  1. Clear the floor surface of all furniture, chairs, and other objects that can get in the way of the floor machine.
  2. Replace any floor pads that look soiled, used excessively, or blemished. Using an old floor pad can cause unnecessary nicks and marks in the floor.
  3. Be sure to start buffing from the farthest floor area, and work your way to the entrance to prevent you from steeping on pre-buffed areas.
  4. Apply buffing solution and polishing cream to the pad or directly onto the floor surface.
  5. Proceed slowly across the floor, going over the spots more than once to ensure that you don't miss a spot.
  6. Replace the pad as needed.
