What is the difference BR and PAR bulbs?
The main difference between BR and PAR bulbs is the angle beam. BR bulbs have an angle beam of 90 degrees and higher while PAR bulbs do not exceed an angle beam of 45 degrees and higher. BR bulbs are mainly found in indoor settings in household ceilings with recessed cans. The broader angle creates better coverage and eliminates shadows in the area. PAR bulbs on the other hand are found in many different spaces due to their narrow beam angle. These bulbs are found in theatres, restaurants and even used for security purposes.
Where should R bulbs be used?
Since R shape bulbs are directional flood lights, they should be placed in a wide area where light can be dispersed evenly. This includes places like kitchens and living rooms. These are great areas to put the bulbs because they provide general lighting to an area.
You can also use R shape bulbs for recessed lighting, display lights or even outdoor floodlights.
