What is Recessed Downlight?

A recessed downlight is a downlight that is installed in a hollow opening in the ceiling.

Recessed downlights do not show the can housing of the fixture once installed. After installation, the downlight gives the appearance that it is part of the ceiling. Recessed downlights are typically found in homes, offices, and retail stores. They are also popular in minimalist designs. A benefit of having these lights is the clean look they have.

Can you replace normal Downlights with LED?

Yes, you can replace normal downlights with LED lights. There are two methods for replacement: replacing the fixture or replacing the bulb. You can replace a traditional downlight with an LED downlight using a retrofit kit. Since this process might require re-wiring, we suggest contacting a licensed electrician.

To replace the bulb, you can take the halogen bulb out and put the new LED bulb in. Ensure the LED bulb is the right size before installing it into the fixture.
