What heater accessories do I need?

King Electric sells many wall heater accessories and replacement parts to ensure your fan forced heaters run smoothly.

  • Grills cover the heater and control the direction the heat blows. Each grill fits certain heater models from each series.
  • The infrared remote control gives you temperature control from where you are, so that you don’t have to get up to change the temperature.
  • The remote temperature sensor detects cold spots and helps the heater create an even temperature throughout the room. Place it on a wall or shelf.
  • A surface mounting box allows you to surface-mount your heater. Surface mount heaters typically install on the floor so that the heat rises.
  • A disconnect switch shuts of the flow of electric current, allowing shutdowns in emergencies or for maintenance. Make sure you choose the pole options that match your heater.
  • The Recess Can and Wall Can allow you to recess your heater into the wall so that it takes up less space.
  • A wire safety guard prevents foreign object from entering the heater.
  • A control transformer provides voltage stability during a brief period of overload, or inrush. Use a transformer when the circuit requires a constant voltage or current with a low power or volt-amp rating.
  • A frame allows you to mount your heater. You can have a surface mount or a wall mount.
  • For new construction, a rough-in plate allows you to plan your heater’s layout before hanging the drywall. It holds the exact spot where the heater will mount.

What type of thermostat should I get?

Control the temperature with a compatible programmable thermostat, available in single pole or double pole options. A single pole thermostat does not completely shut off the heater, and instead, power constantly runs to the heater, remaining at a “low” setting instead off an “off” setting.

A double pole thermostat shuts completely off even when the temperature drops below the set temperature. King Electric sells built-in thermostats and replacement thermostats for a wide variety of heater series.

If you have a rental property or hotel, a tamperproof thermostat allows you to set certain temperatures and prevent residents or guests from changing the temperature.
