A multimeter, also known as a VOM, is an electronic measuring tool that combines several measurement functions in one unit. A multimeter can measure voltage, current, and resistance. Multimeters are used to troubleshoot electrical problems in industrial or household devices such as electronic equipment, motor controls, domestic appliances, power supplies, and wiring systems.
A Klein Tools Clamp Meter is an electrical device with two jaws. They open to allow clamping around an electrical conductor so properties of the electric current in the conductor to be measured without having to make physical contact with it or to disconnect it for insertion through the probe. Current clamps are usually used to read the magnitude of a sinusoidal current.
An electrical tester is a simple piece of electronic test equipment used to determine the presence or absence of an electric voltage in a piece of equipment under test.
Klein Tools' selection of specialty testers includes infrared thermometers, borescopes, and video borescopes. The infrared thermometer infers temperature form a portion of the thermal radiation emitted by the object being measured. Borescopes are used for visual inspection work where the area that needs to be inspected is inaccessible by other means. Similar to a regular borescope, video borescopes are used for visual inspection but it uses a mini video camera that has the ability to capture video for later inspection.
