What is the difference between PAR and R Type LED bulbs?

A PAR36 light bulb (Parabolic Aluminized Reflector) is used in spot light applications where light needs to concentrate into a single space, such as a museum or a showcase in a retail shop. An R type bulb has a bulged reflector where the outer sides of the bulb have a reflecting coating material to direct the beam.  R type bulbs also have a glazed or frosted exterior that evenly diffuses light and eliminates glare. The light from R type bulbs gradually fade as they reach the limits of the beam spread such as a flood light.
