How to replace a vanity light fixture?

Before replacing a vanity light fixture, make sure to choose a vanity light that will complement your decor.

Once you find one, please consult a licensed electrician to perform the replacement. Here are the steps they will take for the replacement.

  • Step 1: The electrician will disconnect the power. This is for safety reasons, so they do not electrocute themselves.
  • Step 2: Then they will remove the light fixture. To do this, they will need to first remove the bulbs and the shades to the previous vanity light. Once the shades are removed, they will unscrew the outer portion and detach it from the wall.
  • Step 3: Once everything is removed, they will disconnect the wiring. Many fixtures have a wall bracket that the electrician will remove once the wiring is completed.
  • Step 4: The electrician will then install the bracket for the new light fixture.
  • Step 5: When the new wall bracket is installed, the electrician will then connect the wiring from the new vanity to the wires in the wall.
  • Step 6: After completing the wiring process, the electrician will attach the fixture to the wall. They will also add the shades and light bulbs to the fixture.
  • Step 7: After these steps are completed, the electrician will turn the electricity back on and see if the light works.

How to wire a mini pendant light?

To wire Nuvo’s Polaris Mini Pendant Light, tie the ground wires from the fixture to the ground screw on the mounting strap.

Then connect the white wires from the fixture to the white wires from the supply circuit. Finally, connect the black wires from the fixture to the black wires from the supply circuit.

Once the wires are connected, cover the connections using wire connectors. Then put the wires back inside.

Disclaimer: If you are not a licensed professional in electrical wiring, HomElectrical does not recommend DIY installation. Always hire an electrician for any, and all, electrical needs.
