Below are the best heights for wall sconces in different places:

• Hallways and Entryways: Install wall sconces about 60 inches from the floor to the center of the junction box. You can adjust the sconce up or down based on whether it is an uplight or downlight.
• Bedrooms: Wall Sconces should be measured about 30-36 inches above the top of your mattress, or you can sit up on the bed and place the sconce a couple of inches above your shoulder.
• Kitchen: If you want to place wall sconces in your kitchen for ambient lighting, put them around 60 inches from the floor or 24 inches above the counter. If you want the light to serve as task lighting, put the sconce about 6 inches from the window frame.
