Semi-flush ceiling lights are suspended light fixtures that have a small gap between the fixture and the ceiling. If you see a center stem 4 to 8 inches from the ceiling, the fixture is likely a semi-flush model. The semi-flushes typically provide more light than flush ceiling lights.

Semi-flush lights shine light up at the ceiling and then the light is reflected downward. Use semi-flush mounts when a more decorative look is required to create ambiance in the space.

To remove a semi flush ceiling light, please hire a licensed electrician to complete the removal. Below are some of the steps they will take to complete the removal.

• First, they will turn the power off.
• Then they will unscrew the fixture from the wall. They will do this carefully so that none of the parts from the fixture fall.
• Once the fixture is unscrewed, the electrician will test to see if there is still power flowing through the wires.
• If there is no power, they will disconnect the wires from the wall and they will have completed the removal.
