How to replace vanity light?
Before replacing a vanity light, always make sure to hire or consult with a licensed electrician for assistance with the light.
Below are the steps they will take to replace a vanity light:
- First, the electrician will turn off the power to the circuit breaker. This will prevent them from getting shocked or injured.
- Then the electrician removes the parts from the box and ensures the parts are not missing.
- Once the parts are located, the electrician will remove the old vanity light. This consists of removing the shades and screws from the vanity. They will also have to disconnect the fixture wires from the junction box wires. Once the wires are disconnected, they can lower the old vanity light down.
- Then the electrician will connect the wires from the new fixture to the corresponding wires in the junction box. They will need to use wire nuts to make sure there is a secure connection.
- After all the wires are connected, the electrician will mount the new vanity light. They will do this by screwing the fixture into the mounting plate using the screws that came with the light.
- Then the electrician will add the shade and the bulbs to the vanity light.
- Once the shade and bulb are added, the electrician will turn the power back on and test to see if the fixture works.
