Ceiling fans that include a light work well in smaller rooms like a bedroom or office. They usually install in the center of the room, allowing the fan to easily distribute light throughout the space. Though you can often find ceiling fans without a light used in living rooms, using a light kit can highlight certain aspects of the room or brighten areas that need additional light.

Ceiling fans without lighting work well in rooms that already have adequate lighting and just need extra cooling and air circulation. They often see use in large areas, like a larger living room or open floor plan.

LED lighting offers a wide variety of benefits. They provide an energy efficient alternative to traditional options like incandescent bulbs. They use a lower wattage while still providing the same amount of light. This means they use less energy, saving money on your energy bill!

As a long-lasting light source, it means you don’t have to swap out bulbs as often as you do with incandescents. Incandescent bulbs typically last about 1,000 hours while LEDs can last as long as 25,000 hours or more. That’s a little over 9 years when used 8 hours a day!

Though not every fixture can, many vanity lights can install so they point either up or down, allowing you to choose the direction you want them to shine. When choosing which direction they should point, consider the type of lighting your space needs. If the room needs task lighting to put on makeup or style hair, use fixtures that direct light downward. Additionally, if the space has a darker color palette, then directing the lights downward helps focus the light where needed.

If the room only needs ambient lighting, direct the fixtures upward. This creates an indirect light source. Lights pointed upward also work in rooms with a lighter color palette. Directing the light up allows the light to bounce off the walls and the ceiling, making the room feel brighter.

The 4902 series comes in 1, 2, 3, or 4-light options while the 4904 comes in 2, 3, or 4 lights.

Flush mount lights install flush against the ceiling and provide ambient lighting. Flush mount light fixtures work well in rooms with low ceiling heights of 8-feet or less as they provide the most clearance.
