What heater control options does Schwank offer?
Schwank offers many temperature controller options, including heater switches, INF input regulators, analog controllers, and control panels, that work with a variety of heating applications. These products work with every type of heater from residential heaters to commercial and industrial heaters to a patio heater.
A heater switch offers a low-cost power control solution for single element heaters. It allows for individual control of each element. Options include single and dual, surface mount and flush mount, and indoor and outdoor.
An INF input regulator cycles the heater on and off at regular intervals when not on full power. Keep in mind that each heater requires its own INF input regulator. Just like the heater switch, choices include single and dual, surface mount and flush mount, and indoor and outdoor.
An analog controller allows users to adjust heat intensity and provide zone heating. Options include 1-zone up to 4 zones, as well as controllers with or without timers. Note that in order to complete the setup, the required products you need include the main relay control panel as well.
A control panel works with the analog control. It adjusts heating intensity and has the capacity for zone heating. Schwank sells 1-relay up to 6-relay control panels. The Home Management Control Panel integrates directly into your home management system to easily achieve the perfect air temperature.
If you have a Schwank heater, a Schwank controller offers many advantages over other types of controllers. Schwank heaters use infrared radiant heat, but regulars controllers only measure ambient temperature. Schwank uses two types of control technology. One uses radiant and ambient temperatures to figure out the most comfortable temperature while also reducing heat loss and operating costs. The second type of technology works with the building management system (BMS) or computerized IR heating system management.
How many relays do I need?
To figure out the amount of relays you need, calculate the power of the heaters within a zone. One relay handles up to 9000 watts at 240V. If the sum of the wattage of heaters in one zone adds up to more than 9000 watts or if you plan on controlling multiple zones, use a 2-relay or higher control panel.
