Explosion proof convectors use convection heating to warm an area considered hazardous. Stelpro's explosion-proof convectors allow safe heating in areas with potential risk of fire or explosion.
What are the features of the Stelpro explosion proof convector?
Stelpro X-Pro series explosion proof convectors offer a variety of wattages, voltages, and phases. They include a sloped top to make it less likely for someone to sit on the heater or use it as a shelf.
They offer these additional features:
- Thermal protection with automatic reset
- 18-gauge galvanized steel cabinet
- Sealed junction box
- Powder coat finish
- Corrosion resistant options (EC-C1 and EC-C2 NEMA 3)
- One-year warranty
Additionally, they offer a variety of control options, including an optional wall thermostat and a built-in contactor and transformer included with single-phase units of more than 277V or more than 22A as well as for three-phase units.
Where do you use a Stelpro explosion proof convector?
Stelpro explosion proof convection heaters offer heat in three location classifications:
- Class I, Divisions 1 and 2, Groups B, C, and D – presence of flammable gases or vapors
- Class II, Divisions 1 and 2, Groups E, F, and G – presence of combustible dust
- Class I, Zones 1 and 2, Groups IIB + H2 – ignitable concentrations of gases, vapors, and mists
These locations may include battery storage areas, chemical handling/storage areas, dry cleaning plants, gasoline storage areas, oil refineries, and coal preparation plants.
