What is a candelabra light bulb?

A candelabra bulb, also known as a chandelier bulb, consists of a small light bulb typically used in chandeliers. LEDVANCE Sylvania offers LED candelabra bulbs that range in style and size from B10 bulbs to B13 to C7 options.

LED candelabra bulbs replace inefficient incandescent bulbs. Traditional incandescent light bulbs can only last around 1,000 hours while LEDs can last much longer. LEDVANCE Sylvania offers LED bulbs, like this 4W bulb, which feature a rated life of 15,000 hours. That way, you won’t have to constantly change bulbs in those hard-to-reach places.

Candelabra bulbs often use an E12 base, also referred to as a candelabra base. This light bulb base features a diameter of 12 millimeters or around half an inch (0.47 inches). They may also use an E26 standard medium base, which features a diameter of a little over 1-inch (1.02 inches).

What kind of chandelier bulbs does Sylvania offer?

LEDVANCE Sylvania offers a few different styles of chandelier bulb:

  • Bent Tip
  • Candle or Blunt Tip
  • Spiral Filament

With a few different finishes:

  • Clear
  • Amber
  • Frosted

They offer a range of color temperature options starting from 2200K, a warm yellow, 2700K-3000K, which appears warm white or soft white, to 5000K, which appears cool white.

Sylvania also offers some dimmable LED candelabra lamps as well as some bulbs suitable for enclosed fixtures.

What are the highest lumens they offer?

Lumens measure the amount of visible light that you receive from the bulb. While watts used to offer a good indicator of the amount of light you would receive, LEDs use a low wattage while still providing the same or similar brightness that lumens now provide a better indicator. The higher the number of lumens emitted by the bulb, the brighter it appears. Fewer lumens mean a dimmer light.

LEDVANCE Sylvania offers LED candelabra bulbs that range from 125 lumens up to 750 lumens.

What is color temperature and why is it important?

Color temperature indicates the look or appearance of the white light emitted by a light bulb. They use Kelvins (K) to measure the color temperature. They typically range between 1000K-10000K. Common color temperatures found in residential applications include 2700K-5000K. Lower color temperatures appear more warmer and more yellow while high temperatures appear bluer, or cooler.

LEDVANCE Sylvania offers a range of color temperature options starting from 2200K, a warm yellow, 2700K-3000K, which appears warm white or soft white, to 5000K, which appears cool white.
