Sylvania LED Wall Sconce

Outdoor wall lights consist of a set of fixtures that install on the exteriors of buildings. An outdoor wall sconce attaches to the side of a house or building. Unlike wall packs used most often for security lighting, these stylish fixtures work as accent or focused exterior lighting, typically around doors and entranceways. Outdoor lighting boosts curb appeal and creates safer entranceways.

These fixtures can install flush against the wall or use an arm or bracket that extends the fixture out from the wall. You can find styles such as barn lights, which feature an arm and typically point light downward, or subtler designs like those that feature a square design.

For proper lighting, the light fixture should measure 1/3 to 1/4 the size of the door and trim. When deciding on the size of the fixture, measure the height of the door from top to bottom. Divide the height of the front door by 1/3 and 1/4. That way, you can choose a fixture between 1/4-1/3 of the size of the door for a well-sized fixture.

When installing the fixture, the center of the fixture should rest between 66 to 72 inches above the ground, or around eye-level for most individuals.
