What is an LED corn bulb?

LED corn bulbs consist of an assembly of LEDs (light emitting diodes) arranged on a metal construction. They get their name from their resemblance to a corn cob. Because of this, they sometimes get referred to as an LED corn cob bulb or corn cob lamps.

LED corn lights often replace metal halide lamps, high pressure sodium bulbs, and other HID lamps in certain indoor or outdoor applications. LED corn bulbs act as an energy efficient replacement for these types of light bulbs.

Does color temperature affect the brightness of a corn bulb?

The color temperature does not affect the amount of light emitted from a corn bulb. However, certain color temperatures can seem brighter than others.

Lower color temperatures, around 2700K-3500K appear as a warm white or yellow color and may appear dimmer than higher color temperatures. Lower temperatures tend to work well in residential locations due to their warm, cozy appearance.

In comparison, higher color temperatures appear as a brighter, cooler white light. Color temperatures ranging from 4000K-4500K feature a cool white while 5000K color temperatures offer a daylight white.

Why choose TCP Lighting LED corn bulbs?

TCP Lighting offers energy efficient LED corn bulb options that feature a higher lumen count. Because they use less energy than their traditional counterparts, these long-lasting bulbs help reduce replacement and maintenance costs.
