Nidec Corporation attained the U.S. Motors brand when it acquired the Emerson Electric Company in 2010. U.S. Motors branded products include a complete line of general and special purpose commercial and industrial motors. Their motors can work in pools, spas, heating and air conditioning, and even specialty motors designed to address environments such as oil and gas manufacturing.

Belt drive fans use a belt driven configuration which means that a belt connects the motor to the fan. These units provide greater flexibility when it comes to RPMs and have a cheaper price point than comparable direct drive fans.

Direct drive fans use a motor that connects to the fan blades with a shaft or fan axle. This means the fan blades rotate at the same speed as the motor.
